Nichols worked for TNT as a journalist who reported on NBA games, including playoffs, regular season and All Star television broadcasts. Her work for TBS covered golf and baseball coverage as well as Final Four broadcasts by CBS. Through the history of 42 years of this award, it was the first time that women were one of the nominees.
