Niykee is a song-writer and songwriter who, even with her recent whirlwind career has maintained her routine. Some of her personal highlights been being selected by Snoop dogg to become his sidekick at the YouTube Brandcast event in May 2013. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee constantly sifts through the many beats that are sent to her. She finds that most are a source of new songs. It's easy to tell when a beat's good after the first five seconds. Then I'll have a song in my head and start creating right away, she adds. I sit on my front porch and play my guitar and the words appear and it's usually finished in just thirty minutes. Niykee has found that her pain in the past provides an endless source of inspiration. It's difficult to escape memories that are painful from my childhood, and especially losing my younger sister. These memories are integrated into her music. This influences my music and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is one the most important things to me--I need to know that I can listen to any one of my music 20 years from now and still be proud of what I had to say.
