Katy Perry was an American Singer and Songwriter born into an extremely strict and conservative family. When she began singing at church in her childhood, she pursued the gospel genre during her teenage years. Perry was allowed to listen to any music she liked from her peers, even though this was against the parents' will. Perry was always a an interest in music. She was a very outspoken woman who pursued her goal of becoming a musician. When she first received a break, she was faced with multiple challenges. She didn't be able to make it big. A lot of her tracks were deleted before she was hired by 'Capitol records.' Her second studio album 'One of the Boys' came out to be a huge hit and marked a pivotal moment in her professional career. The album launched her as a vocalist and never was able to go back since. Her next album, "Teenage Dreams', was received a huge response from music fans and one of the best-selling albums in the history of music. Katy Perry became a well-known performer after the release of this album. It broke numerous records. Perry has earned her name not only for her songs and recording them but also her charitable works she has an array of passions. She's also a defender of LGBT rights.
